Like an increasing number of our hospitality interiors, the branding for Zero Zero was carried out by our design agency Crate47. The name is derived from the finely milled 00 flour that the restaurant uses to make its artisanal pizzas. This type of flour is highly refined and made from the whitest part of the grain which informed the use of white throughout the restaurant interior design.
Crate47 created a stand-alone marque made up of interlocking 00 figures and a written logo design that contains the marque within the space between the two words. Although very contemporary, the brand, like the restaurant design itself, draws inspiration from mid-century modernist design, so that the two work in conjunction with one another. As a name, Zero Zero is very descriptive for those who know Italian cuisine, but it also has a certain intrigue to it for those left wondering about its origin. This might lead them on a path of discovery so that they too become one of those who are ‘in the know’.
