For the De L’Orient Roastery, in Abu Dhabi, the Liqui interiors team created a retail store design that takes influences from British, Moroccan and industrial styling resulting in a shop design that both welcomes and immerses customers in the world of coffee roasting. This interior was designed and developed in our UK based studios and realised in Abu Dhabi by their own build team.
This is a high-end interior that blends the classic with the modern; the result is luxury. It’s a space that makes full use of rich elegant materials working harmoniously to bring the commercial environment to life. It’s the detailing where this interior surpassed the client’s expectations. The Liqui design team made methodical use of copper detailing that works perfectly to offset the dark Bamboo. This use of carefully selected materials defines the interior, providing a rich and refined look, whilst the strategic placement of Moroccan tiling only adds to the harmonious juxtaposition of styles.
The Liqui design process is driven by materials. It’s this that creates something special and harmonious. This Abu Dhabi based coffee roastery was no different in its conception. The choice of utilising sustainable dark bamboo gives the interior an air of luxury, whilst the look and feel of the wood add a unique quality. The richness of this material was then combined with copper, granite brick and glass to create a high-end commercial environment with a touch of the industrial. These materials were utilised in such a way on the individual elements, like the bars and the spice lab, that the interior achieves the premium feel the client was striving for.
This is an interior that when combined with excellent service is designed to make the customer feel special and immerse them into the world of coffee roasting.
