The all-encompassing design studio at the heart of Liqui Group is responsible for commercial interior design, contract lighting, and furniture design as well as branding. The company also has extensive manufacturing capabilities. Our designers and craftspeople are dedicated to creating high-quality furniture, lighting, and interiors that have a minimal impact on the environment. This means that everything is intelligently designed to not only look good but be fit for purpose too.
Liqui® Group was founded in 2007 by the furniture designer and maker Cameron Fry with the belief that ‘things can be different. He now leads a multi-disciplined design studio with a reputation for detail-focused creative thinking that always has sustainability in mind.

SUSTAINABILITY MANUFACTURING
We believe in collaborative design between disciplines creating a flow of ideas between them. An example of this would be when our interior designers get together with our lighting specialists to create a pendant light installation to fit into one of our coffee shop designs; or where our furniture makers have created bespoke desks specifically for a new office design. We feel that we achieve more interesting results, as well as more effective design solutions, by enabling our designers to harmoniously work together in this way.

Because our design company’s roots are in furniture making we have an artisanal attention to detail in everything we do, together with a passion for sustainable, good quality materials. We combine traditional techniques with modern technology to achieve large-scale production while maintaining a high standard of finish. As an example, this might mean using CNC programming to cut out components by machine, before assembling and finishing them by hand.

There is a strong link between our approach to design, which is process led, and how Liqui products are manufactured. Our designers are very involved with our craftsmen during the process of developing a prototype. This means they have a sound knowledge of the strengths of various materials, as well as their limitations, which helps them to adjust their designs in line with the best method for manufacture. We feel that this encourages innovative thinking, which in turn, leads to greater efficiency in production.

We design things not just to be aesthetically pleasing but to be functional too. This is made possible through our expert knowledge of up-to-date production methods as well as our understanding of materials. Whether it’s our contract furniture and lighting, or one of our commercial interiors, we design everything with care, paying special attention to its usage as well as its longevity. At the heart of everything we do is a focus on good design, quality, and sustainability – beauty and function working harmoniously together.
